The Hummingbird
In many cultures, the hummingbird symbolizes love, joy, beauty, and intelligence – all qualities that Joan possessed. The hummingbird also symbolizes limitless energy and persistence – qualities that The Joan Gaeta Lung Cancer Fund is determined to bring to the fight against this disease.
Hummingbirds are seemingly tireless. Always actively seeking the sweetest nectar, they remind us to forever seek out the good in life and the beauty in each day. The fluttering wings of the hummingbird move in the pattern of the symbol for infinity. Some hummingbirds are known to wing their way as far as 2,000 miles to reach their destination. This quality reminds us to be persistent in the pursuit of our goals and dreams, and to adopt the tenacity of the Hummingbird in our fight against lung cancer.
